Position: Business Development Director

We are looking for an experienced and highly strategic Director of Business Development to join our growing team. The Director will be responsible for the overall management of the Company's business development initiatives.
Responsibilities:
· Spearhead business development initiatives that are consistent with company strategy
· Develop, manage, and grow online distribution and syndication partnerships
· Help identify and create new products and lines of business that will generate successful partnership and sponsorship initiatives
· Identify and close inbound licensing opportunities for site content
· Manage multiple business initiatives in a start-up environment
· Manage complex contract negotiation and work with legal counsel as required
· Prospect, qualify, negotiate, and close deals in an aggressive time frame
· Identify and develop strategic partnerships for distribution, content, technology, and member benefits
· Liaise with sales to grow current non-revenue partnerships into revenue-generating marketing and strategic partnerships
· Build and manage a business development team
· Work with other departments to fully analyze potential products that can be developed through partnerships
· Execute revenue and cost scenarios for various levels of products
· Collaborate with Product Development team to launch and nurture early stages of product
· Act as liaison between editorial and business groups in order to synthesize the product offerings
Qualifications:
· 7+ years media business development experience with a minimum of 3 years experience at consumer-facing Internet companies
· Experience structuring and successfully negotiating complicated deals
· Excellent business acumen and strong understanding of online space
· Ability to be productive and focused in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
· Aptitude for managing multiple daily tasks and long-term strategic projects
· JD or MBA a significant plus
· Excellent presentation skills
