Position: PHP Developer
As a fledgling startup in Manhattan, we bootstrapped a small gaming social network site into existence and pushed it out into the wild. Since then, we've raised some money and the site has grown and grown and now we've outgrown our single in-house developer! We're looking for a Triborough-based developer to work in our Midtown offices to build out the more ambitious features of the site. You will be working as part of a small team that is partially based in Manhattan and partially located in Tennessee. The site serves as a blogging, forum, and video platform where gamers discuss all sorts of video game experiences from strategies to competition to statistics to drama.
We like people that tinker: the type that loves to tear apart an engine or a phone just to see how it works then put it back together again. Our team is comprised of developers with formal Computer Science backgrounds that spend their spare time looking at other sites, games, and applications to see how they function and what makes them great. It's helpful that you are both passionate about web and gaming – Xbox 360 or Wii preferred!
Qualifications: Commute daily to Manhattan / Experience working in a scalable, templated environment / LAMP / AJAX / Optimization. Database and server administration experience a plus but not required.
