Position: Product/Project Manager
23/6, a topical humor website collaboration between IAC and The Huffington Post, has an opening (and great learning opportunity) for a combination product/project manager in the New York Office.
Position Title: Product/Project Manager
Location: SoHo, New York
Reporting to: President, 23/6
You are tech savvy, love the web, love blogs, and like interacting with people online. You may not be a programmer, but you have a clue about how web technology works and how to use it. You want to be actively engaged in managing, promoting, supporting, and improving 23/6's offerings within a start-up environment.
Primary responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:
• Formulate and manage product roadmap for 23/6's community tools, including the site's approach to commenting and managing community interaction within the blog, news and video sections of the site.
o Develop and execute strategy for comment moderation and reader feedback; monitor community-driven content and provide email support to dedicated users
o Manage related vendor relationships, where needed
o Identify ways to galvanize reader and blogger communities
• Create and develop community-oriented promotions.
• Track, analyze and report key 23/6 metrics on and off the site.
• Support the CTO with bug management and QA (quality assurance) testing.
• Work with the VP of Marketing to implement various on and off-site marketing strategies.
• Troubleshoot site issues with editorial staff to help resolve them in a timely manner.
• Conduct ongoing competitive analyses.
• Serve as team project manager for new initiatives.
Experience and Skills Required:
• The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of work experience, preferably in online product/project or brand management and will be comfortable with an individual contributor role.
• BA/BS required.
• Experience with contagious media projects is preferred.
• Basic Excel and PowerPoint skills needed.
• Knowledge of HTML, Adobe Photoshop, and other web technologies preferred, but not required.
You must be available for full-time, on-site work in SOHO, New York.
