Position: Senior Project Manager
I. POSITION SUMMARY:
The candidate will be responsible for planning and execution of short and long-term projects, including integration of new content, products and site functionality, and improvements/changes to internal publishing systems. This individual must be comfortable working in a hectic editorial production environment and managing multiple projects simultaneously. This individual will work very closely with site and product management, graphic designers, software engineers, video producers, business development and content producers. He/she will form teams, kick-off projects, and follow them through completion.
II. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Roadmap all software and technology builds, whether in-house, vendors, or partners
• Form teams (tech, editorial, design, etc) to execute all builds.
• Track all site changes. Organize and coordinate bug fixes
• Chief liaison with other CBS-I technical teams, and outside technical, software vendors
• Stay on top of latest cutting-edge industry trends and apply as appropriate to the Site
• Responsibility for accuracy of @task and Bugzilla applications
DECISION MAKING/ACCOUNTABILITY:
This individual will report to [TBD] and will directly manage the projects handled by the back-end software engineers and front-end developers. This individual wwill be expected to deliver projects on time and on budget. This individual will also manage one direct report (project manager).
III. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Strong knowledge of HTML required. Basic knowledge of [software types] recommended. Must be extremely well organized, detail oriented, and be able to successfully manage a number of intricate projects simultaneously. Knowledge of MS Project, @task, and Bugzilla recommended. Basic knowledge of Quality Assurance testing protocols a must. Basic knowledge of Usability testing protocols recommended.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Minimum four years Internet experience, including at least two years Internet Project Management experience. Bachelor's degree required.
