This year’s cocktail reception and awards ceremony will celebrate our 34rd anniversary of fighting for open and honest government in New York State. Students with an interest in event planning and outreach, public relations, nonprofit fundraising, and politics can gain valuable experience planning special events. The Silent Auction Intern will assist the Event Coordinator with all aspects of silent auction planning and implementation, including researching and contacting prospective auction donors. The intern will also assist in organizing donated items into packages to be auctioned at event, catalogue and organize items as they are sent in, writing the silent auction pamphlet, and setting up the auction at the event. The ideal candidate will possess strong research and writing skills, be highly organized, have previous experience with event planning or public relations, have previous experience and be willing to make fundraising phone calls, and have a positive attitude and professional demeanor.
