Position: Store Team, MySQL DBA (Database Administrator)
Lime Wire LLC, maker of the famous file-sharing program, seeks an exceptional MySQL DBA. Ideal candidates will be innovative, self-motivated, a quick study, and willing to develop new skills while constantly improving existing abilities. The candidate must also be a strong multi-tasker with exceptional time-management skills. In this position, you will work closely with the store development team to build the front and back-end frameworks for our new online media store.
Responsibilities
• Candidate will be responsible for maintaining all aspects of the Store database systems
• Logical and physical database design
• Ensuring that security policies are followed
• Monitoring database and machine performance / troubleshooting database performance problems
• Design and documentation of DBA procedures
• Reporting results to Project Manager and proactively working to resolve any issues
Qualifications
• Expert knowledge of MySQL 5.x.(We are running 5.1)
• Expert knowledge of physical and logical database design and performance tuning
• Expert knowledge of database security and overall network security
• Experience building and maintaining DB replication, clustering, and load balancing
• Experience creating and implementing monitoring, backup, and recovery
• Good verbal and written communication skills to communicate with both technical and non-technical associates
• Quick learner
• A love of data and information technology
Bonus Points
• Strong scripting skills (Perl/Python/etc) a big plus
• Experience with NDB (We have an 8-node cluster running on IBM dual quad-core machines in RAID-1)
• Experience with online sales systems
