Position: Systems Administrator
Lime Wire LLC, a New York City-based software and technology company, seeks a seasoned and effective Systems Administrator for the LimeSpot project (http://limespot.com). LimeSpot is a new, innovative web application that simplifies publishing and sharing for users and groups.
As a Systems Administrator, you will be in charge of running the production servers, planning for expansion, and researching new tools in the fast-paced world of Ruby/Rails. Since you will be joining a small team, your impact will be immediate and you will be making meaningful decisions from day one.
Candidates are expected to have a few years of relevant experience and be well-versed with Linux, web servers, databases and scripting. Prior experience with monitoring tools, scaling web applications, and Rails deployment will be incredibly helpful as well. Bonus points for candidates with a degree in computer science or a related field from a top-tier university.
About LimeSpot
LimeSpot is a new social publishing platform developed by Lime Wire. We aim to allow our users to easily publish and organize online content, as well as connect and work together. By embracing open formats and developing simple sharing tools, LimeSpot also hopes to reach beyond the bounds of limespot.com and participate in the growth of portable social networks.
The application is built by a small team at Lime Wire using Ruby on Rails, and we are currently served from Engine Yard. LimeSpot launched in closed Beta in March 2008.
