Main responsibilities will cover project planning, implementation and support of the Messaging, Server & Desktop Services Infrastructure. This will involve the following responsibilities:

Day to Day Responsibilities

Technical planning & implementation of hardware/software
Management of the IT Infrastructure - Servers, standard build scripts, logon scripts/profiles
Provide technical advice and guidance to projects and users on best way of achieving requirements
Server and PC configuration design and build notes
New application integration to PC and Server environments
Design and build application distribution methodologies
Server and User administration:
Creation and maintenance of PC network user-ids and associated user profiles
Administration of Global and Local Groups and file permissions
Password administration

Control of login scripts and profiles
Server/Network Monitoring:
Monitoring security related events together with any appropriate follow-up of actual or suspected security violations associated with the servers
Performance monitoring and tuning
Capacity management/planning
Storage management
Monitoring print queues and system usage
Server Installation and Configuration:
Installation/upgrades of Network Operating Systems
Installation/configuration of third-party software packages
Server Housekeeping:
Scheduling/running of programs
Backup strategy and testing of restore procedures
Tape management
Anti-Virus procedures
Security
Exchange Administration and Housekeeping
Creation and maintenance of e-mail accounts
Maintenance of Exchange Servers & Sites
Backup and housekeeping procedures
Assist support engineers with difficult problems
Resolve technical issues with external manufacturers and suppliers

ON-CALL
This means the candidate will be required to provide a level of overnight support for production issues. The remote support is provided via VPN from home to the office.

MCP / MCSE/ CSE qualifications
